Vienna is the most livable city in the world and it has been for ten years in a row. Clients are also enthusiastic about the Danube metropolis and would like a second residence here. With the penthouse in a prime location, the dream of the couple from Moscow will come true. The 110 m2 apartment on Prinz-Eugen-Straße is directly opposite Belvedere Palace and the park. This includes a terrace and an apartment that will be used as a wine lounge. Steininger Designers completely rebuilt the domicile and conceived the interior design from A to Z.

Before the metamorphosis, the roof quarters were dilapidated, appeared small and a bit gloomy. It did not fit in with the client’s ideas of an open living space full of light. This is why Steininger Designers is renovating the rooms layout from scratch. The subsequent modernization includes the laying of new walls and floors surfaces, the furniture, the colors, materials and lights concept. In addition, the terrace was redesigned and planted. The team provided a white glove service by carefully storing the initial equipment: glasses, plates, cutlery, towels, curtains and accessories.

The whole setting is a puristic, elegant alternative to the baroque opulence of the Belvedere and the surrounding area without looking cool: the clients like understated luxury, but also cozy. High quality and authentic materials create a noble and sensual ambiance: stone, marble, bronze, wooden floors in soft dark shades as well as linen, leather applications, carpets and flowing fabrics. Upon entering the lighted apartment, the muted shades are pleasantly evident: solid brown tones, taupe, a bit of black, light walls in Charleston Gray (Farrow & Ball) flatter the rooms. The leather and fabric furnishings are simple, elegant and sometimes casual. The ceiling and pendant lights by Occhie and Bocci create some sparkling accents. Everything is measured in moderation and exudes class.

The undisputed highlight is the kitchen area. The wall unit made of dark oak leaves the stage to the “Rock in Block”. The name says it all: the custom-made product made of dark marble (Frapuccino) with a bar element makes a solid statement for extravagant kitchen culture made by Steininger. The base units are also made to measure from the special marble.

Furniture design, accessories or lights by manufacturers of selected brands such as Living Divani, Moooi, Flos, Zanotta or Casalis, complete the furnishings. Managing Director Martin Steininger says: “To be able to use a home so completely is a wonderful task. It is an elaborate coordination of architectural work, construction planning, execution, interior design, as well as the production and selection of furniture and kitchens. “The revitalization of this old apartment into a timeless cosmopolitan home has succeeded. According to rumors, the couple is less and less likely to be in Moscow than in the second home in front of the Belvedere.
